In the study, twelve high ranking officers in NORSOF and the Norwegian military were interviewed according to an interview template, thereby ensuring consistency in the research. The interviewees participating in this research generated original primary source data, enabling unique insight to the subject. The sample group consists of some of the most experienced people in Scandinavia with regard to SR, in addition to the central leadership in NORSOF. There are no existing publications with such a comprehensive sample group looking into this subject, thus the qualitative data that will be presented in this paper provides a notable insight.</div> <ul class="links inline list-inline"><li class="node-readmore"><a href="/jrnl/art/defying-stereotypes-untapped-potential-integrating-female-reconnaissance-operators-small" rel="tag" title="Defying Stereotypes: The Untapped Potential of Integrating Female Reconnaissance Operators Into Small State NATO SOF" hreflang="en">Read more<span class="visually-hidden"> about Defying Stereotypes: The Untapped Potential of Integrating Female Reconnaissance Operators Into Small State NATO SOF</span></a></li><li class="comment-comments"><a href="/jrnl/art/defying-stereotypes-untapped-potential-integrating-female-reconnaissance-operators-small#comments" title="Jump to the first comment." hreflang="en">1 comment</a></li><li class="comment-new-comments"><a href="/taxonomy/term/735/feed" class="hidden" title="Jump to the first new comment." data-history-node-last-comment-timestamp="1659517164" data-history-node-field-name="comment"></a></li><li class="comment-forbidden"></li><li></li></ul> Mon, 29 Oct 2018 18:41:05 +0000 SWJED 108964 at http://archive.smallwarsjournal.com Expanding the Menu: The Case for CYBERSOC http://archive.smallwarsjournal.com/jrnl/art/expanding-menu-case-cybersoc <article data-history-node-id="81334" role="article" class="article teaser clearfix"> <h2> <a href="/jrnl/art/expanding-menu-case-cybersoc" rel="bookmark"><span>Expanding the Menu: The Case for CYBERSOC</span> </a> </h2> <footer> <article> <drupal-render-placeholder callback="masquerade.callbacks:renderCacheLink" arguments="0=4" token="2JcDkyvoNdz7AbcUTZXDTgfSvABuLH-TUc0jYOzfCs0"></drupal-render-placeholder></article> <div class="author"> <span>Fri, 01/05/2018 - 10:37am</span> </div> </footer> <div class="content"> <div class="field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field--item"><p> The United States military should develop cyber special operations capabilities to expand the menu of policy options for addressing threats to U.S. interests and national security.</p> </div> <ul class="links inline list-inline"><li class="node-readmore"><a href="/jrnl/art/expanding-menu-case-cybersoc" rel="tag" title="Expanding the Menu: The Case for CYBERSOC" hreflang="en">Read more<span class="visually-hidden"> about Expanding the Menu: The Case for CYBERSOC</span></a></li><li class="comment-forbidden"></li><li></li></ul> <h2>About the Author(s)</h2> <div class="views-element-container form-group"></div> </div> </article> Fri, 05 Jan 2018 15:37:07 +0000 SWJED 81334 at http://archive.smallwarsjournal.com The Battle of the Beret: A Never-Ending Campaign http://archive.smallwarsjournal.com/jrnl/art/battle-beret-never-ending-campaign <span>The Battle of the Beret: A Never-Ending Campaign</span> <span><span>SWJED</span></span> <span>Tue, 10/31/2017 - 8:25pm</span> <div class="field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field--item"><p> The battle of the beret has been a long and never-ending campaign for a multitude of Army Chiefs of Staff.</p> </div> <ul class="links inline list-inline"><li class="node-readmore"><a href="/jrnl/art/battle-beret-never-ending-campaign" rel="tag" title="The Battle of the Beret: A Never-Ending Campaign" hreflang="en">Read more<span class="visually-hidden"> about The Battle of the Beret: A Never-Ending Campaign</span></a></li><li class="comment-comments"><a href="/jrnl/art/battle-beret-never-ending-campaign#comments" title="Jump to the first comment." hreflang="en">4 comments</a></li><li class="comment-new-comments"><a href="/taxonomy/term/735/feed" class="hidden" title="Jump to the first new comment." data-history-node-last-comment-timestamp="1672927821" data-history-node-field-name="comment"></a></li><li class="comment-forbidden"></li><li></li></ul> Wed, 01 Nov 2017 00:25:33 +0000 SWJED 79000 at http://archive.smallwarsjournal.com The Importance of the Green Beret as a Symbol http://archive.smallwarsjournal.com/jrnl/art/importance-green-beret-symbol <span>The Importance of the Green Beret as a Symbol</span> <span><span>SWJED</span></span> <span>Sun, 10/29/2017 - 4:11pm</span> <div class="field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field--item"><p> Words matter.
