Colonel E.J. Degen has served 28 years as a Field Artillery Officer in the U.S. Army. He has two Master’s Degrees in Military Arts and Science and is a graduate of both the School of Advanced Military Studies and the Joint Advanced Warfighter School. He currenty is the Director of the Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) Study Group which is writing the Army’s history of OEF.
