Before starting studies at Naval Postgraduate School in SOF/Irregular warfare curriculum and USMC Command and Staff College, Major Mareks Runts was the Director of Operations center for the Special Operations Unit, Latvian Armed Forces SOCOM. His principal responsibility was to organize, synchronize, and manage special operations to ensure combat readiness and participate in future operations planning.
