Natalie Myers has served as a community planner with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) since 2003. She is currently a member of the Land Management Research Team. Prior to this, Ms. Myers served within the Water Resources Research Team. As part of a diverse area in natural resources, Ms. Myers works to protect environmental, economic, and social resources for future generations. Her technical expertise is in developing geospatial models in support of visualization of patterns, relationships, and trends. Her work has significantly contributed to the Sustainable Installations Regional Resource Assessment (SIRRA)—a spatially-based installation sustainability support tool; the Strategic Sustainability Assessment (SSA)—a resource projection model for regions surrounding military installations; and the Cultural Reasoning and Ethnographic analysis for the Tactical Environment (CREATE)—a knowledge frameworks for infusing socio-cultural theory into Civil Affairs practices. Each project empowers the U.S. military and their adjacent communities to act co-operatively toward a desirable future. For her efforts, Natalie was awarded the Department of the Army Achievement Award for Civilian Service.
Ms. Myers received bachelor’s of arts in both urban planning and environmental design from Ball State University and a Master of regional planning from the University of Illinois. Ms. Myers has been inducted into the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), and serves in a variety of outreach opportunities such contributing to installation sustainability workshops and representing the Construction Engineering Research Laboratory at professional conferences.
