Letter #100 to Friends and Familiares: MESSopotamia while pundits Babylon
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The situation in Iraq is dire and not surprising, given the absence of moral leadership in Syria by the U.S. Look for Russia to annex eastern Ukraine if we panic and over-react in Iraq. These beleaguered, good people have suffered more or less acutely for almost two generations. The chickens are coming home to roost. All of the ideas presented in this essay have been around with workable implementation plans. The problems from the U.S. side have been a lack of will by the Obama Administration as well as a military officer corps out of touch, overstaffed and overly ambitious.
