MAJ Laura L. McGhee, Ph.D., is currently the Executive Officer at the United States Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM). Prior to this assignment, MAJ McGhee served as the Scientific Director of the Defense and Veterans’ Center for Integrative Pain Management (DVCIPM), where she directed research on pain, analgesia, anesthesia, and patient/provider education. She is also the former task area manager for the Battlefield Pain Management Task Area at USAISR. In this assignment, she conducted preclinical pain outcomes research and also initiated the preclinical pain research program at USAISR. MAJ McGhee holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport and a B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
