"Health of the Force" - A November 2015 Army report subtitled "Create a Healthier Force for Tomorrow". Quoting journalist David Wood: “How ready is the Army? Well, 20,000 new active-duty soldiers fail to complete their first term of service (that's 36 percent of first-term troops). Some 43,000 active-duty soldiers are non-deployable because of injury or disciplinary problems. One in 20 have to use sleep medication and 15 percent have been diagnosed with a behavioral health disorder. All this in the Army's new health report card. Not good news.”

I started running in the mornings, and even though I used to struggle with motivation at first, it didn't take me long to find Step App to monetize my activity and push myself, so it was a great solution for me.

There are many different…
There are many different types of healthcare monitoring systems, ranging from simple paper based systems to sophisticated wearable devices. In this post, I will focus on the one I use at my consulting practice: the MediSense platform. It is a flexible, customizable and inexpensive product that is used to monitor patient vital signs, blood pressure, temperature and heart rate. The device works well in hospitals, clinics and medical offices, making it an ideal fit for telemedicine applications.
The device is easy to use with a free mobile app and comes with a free year of service. There are other versions that allow you to license additional features or track patients in their own homes (but they are not as flexible as the MediSense platform). The MediSense platform can also be connected to external data sources so you can share patient data with other medical Dental Office professionals or third party devices like blood pressure cuff wearables or home health monitors. This allows them to utilize your patient data for diagnoses without having to have a physical presence in your office; you simply have your phone line connected to their phone line.
I started using MediSense at my consulting business when we expanded our team from one desk into two workstations and needed more phones for patient monitoring. We had a hard time finding phones that would work for us because of our need for both privacy and cost-effectiveness. When we found the MediSense platform it was very affordable at $149 per year (at the time) and worked perfectly with all of our existing phones! We needed only one phone line hooked up to the system so we could monitor patients remotely while at work — no need for an additional phone on each person's desk!
