Professor Jacqueline L. Hazelton received her Ph.D. from the Brandeis University Politics Department. She holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago, an MA in English Language and Literature from Chicago, and a BA in English, also from Chicago.
Hazelton previously taught at the University of Rochester and spent two years as a research fellow at the Belfer Center, Harvard Kennedy School. Her research interests include compellence, asymmetric conflict, military intervention, counterinsurgency, terrorism, the uses of military power, and U.S. foreign and military policy.
Before returning to academia, Hazelton was an international journalist with The Associated Press with posts including New York, Washington, and Tokyo.
