President Donald Trump said in a Twitter post Friday that retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg and three others are “in play” to be his next national security adviser, following the removal of Michael Flynn earlier this week.
“General Keith Kellogg, who I have known for a long time, is very much in play for NSA—as are three others,” Mr. Trump wrote.
Mr. Trump’s announcement about the finalists comes the day after retired Vice Adm. Bob Harward turned down the job, compounding the turmoil that has surrounded the White House’s National Security Council.
The identities of the other three people Mr. Trump referred to in the Twitter post couldn’t be immediately determined. Mr. Trump has been considering retired Army general and former Central Intelligence Agency director David Petraeus for the post…
