Carl Prine is hurting, a reporter, blogger, a former Marine and Soldier - and the best of the best at cutting to the quick and backing words with real analysis. His words of wisdom will be missed. That said, it ain't over until the fat lady sings and I encourage words of encouragement and prayers for a speedy recovery. Carl, don't give up, not only do we want you back, we need you back. Carl and I have disagreed on many things; but surprisingly have agreed much on other things. Interestedly, a lot of the issues I disagreed with him on several years ago have come full circle - I now agree. Carl does the hard gumshoe work, does real research, and has a poetic way with words (even talking about military strategy and tactics - go figure). Carl also was, and is, a real base of encouragement for many of us at SWJ. We exchanged many e-mails, some heated, but always as professionals. Several of those kept me at this over-worked and under-payed job because he convinced me that we were doing the "right thing". For that, and much more, Carl deserves better and he will get better.

The only thing i would change to your post would be Scouts Out instead of Semper Fi :)
